Do you dive with a surface marker?

Yes me and My 3 Scuba bodyes do. But we have issues with intanglement All the time. We take turns on Who is going to be attached to it. Should we get one that is attached to the bottom or some lead instead?

No attach to your BCC ring. I always am the one to handle the surface marker. During a drift dive in Florida sometime it's hard to keep being pulled by the current.

Yes always.  And I use it.  Even when the dive master sends one up for the group, I send up my own.  This probably goes back to the days when I first learned dive and I was always the first out of air.

It is such an easy/visible safety item, I am confused as to why every diver (buddy pair) does not use them.

Always have one on me in case of emergency.  Don't do a lot of drift diving but I still find myself using it as a surface marker during the dive when diving in some locations, and is still useful to send up ahead of ascent to be sure boats and other crazy's see you are coming up.

I agree with Cvet. Definitely use a surface marker. Good diea to attached to BCC ring.

Yes, I always do. It can be a pain, but I would rather be safe than sorry. I use it and just hook it up and forget about it.

Yes, though most of the time I don't have a spool attached.  I had to use it when I aborted a dive on my last trip.

I always carry a delayed SMB with me when I dive as an emergency signally device but rarely dive in areas that require a surface marker for the entire dive. Some local regulations require that you dive with a surface marker to alert boat traffic.

I always carry one. Mostly use it when drift diving. I have my reel line marked at 20 ft and use it for safety stop reference.
