Equalize early and often is the key. I used to have issues mainly my right ear. I began trying different techniques and have read many tips, techniques, opinions, etc. I have tried everything from Sudafed to nasal rinse out. What i find to work is begin equalizing the night before , make sure you can clear even if it takes several attempts. As i wake up I begin continual equalizing so it becomes easier and easier so when I hit the water I am more likely to clear. As mentioned my right ear was my issue, I find it work if I tilt my head so my right ear is facing up as i clear it almost always clears the first time without any trouble. Took me too long to find this out but glad i did. Give it a try. If you have trouble in both ears try a back and forth tilt and clear? Good luck!

Stay hydrated, No sugar. Milk, chease. Start you equalizing early on land. And in the water take it slow and equalize often

1. Good rest the night before

2. If you really want to enjoy the dive. Stay away from the booze the night before

3. Eat some type of light carbohydrate in the morning before the dive

4. Stay away from the cheese and the milk as it will congest you

5. Practice equalizing a little before you even get in the water

6. I personally take a Sudafed about an hour before I go in, as it helps me clear, but I a, not promoting that.
