I've been trying to catch Redfish with artificial bait for a few weeks and haven't had luck yet. But, supposedly paddle tail soft plastics with a jig head or a weedless rig should do the trick. They sometimes react to top water, or spinners.

If you can use live bait, mullet or shrimp would be the way to go. if you are using cut bait, mullet or shrimp would still be the way to go.

Good luck and tight lines!

I have two. One bone colored and one pink.. my friend who kayak fishes also says he can usually always land a redfish with one.

Surf or from boat?  Artificials like grub tails work well from boat when casting into grass etc.  Can also use artificial crabs if you see one tailing in the grass.  Gold and silver spoons work well also.  When fishing from surf, you want to try and get past bar most of the time.  I've caught them on fresh shrimp, and cut mullet,on bottom rig and even with whole finger mullet on a blue fish rig.  I've also used fresh shrimp and a piece of fish bites successfully.
